What exactly is Fruity Loops and is it free?

Fruity Loops is a computer program for making music. It started out as a %26#039;tracker%26#039;, a program for doing %26#039;techno%26#039; music by writing short phrases, putting them together in different orders, and repeating them over and over. But over the years it%26#039;s added lots of features until today it%26#039;s really a very complicated and full-featured program with many wonderful capabilities.





It%26#039;s not free, it comes in several different levels that cost different amounts of money. But you can get a copy on Usenet or Torrents (just to try it out before buying it, of course).





The latest version is FL Studio which is a complete %26#039;digital audio workstation%26#039;, allowing you to mix MIDI tracks and recorded audio. You can read all about it (and download a functional demo) here:
