Serger loops incorrectly?

doing that but i need the serger to to loop like the right picture. i just got this serger and in a period of 2 hours it start to loop like that. if it loops like that the stictching with show to the other side looking really loose. can someone help me! :(

Try this first:


Raise the thread pole all the way. Take off all spools -- look for a thread loop around the thread stand or something similar. Put thread back on the thread stand and start to serge again.





If that doesn't fix it, clean the tensions and rethread. It looks like the looper tensions are abnormally tight to me, or the needle threads are abnormally loose, which often means something stuck in a tension or mal-threaded.





New needles are also not a bad idea --- it's amazing how many serger gremlins that you can chase forever until you change the needles.

Reply:Try re-threading the entire machine, starting with the loopers. Also, make sure you've got the same tension on the needles and the loopers. Test it out on a plain, crisp piece of cotton and see how it goes. If it's brand new, you may need to play with it a while.
